DÜT are an experimental wind trio that explores the extremes of acoustic sound production and performance practices. Our music is varied in genre and far-reaching in nature but the core of the music is - creative music-making that stems from a deep concern for contribution, form/structure manipulation and honesty.

dÜT are:

Andrew Saragossi:

With a passion for the unorthodox and a knack for cultivating unique ensemble identities, Melbourne-based saxophonist, improviser and composer Andrew Saragossi has established himself across several and varied creative outlets as a chameleon with a wind instrument - not bound by genre or personal taste, but by a relentless search for deeper musical meaning Saragossi’s artistic practice is multidimensional. Whilst firmly grounded in the jazz tradition, his affinity for experimentation and informed use of extended instrumental techniques has evolved to broaden his sonic potential into a realm beyond the stereotypical function of the saxophone. His creative work sits equally in the abstract as it does in the conventional, achieving an honest balance between raw spontaneous expression and refined execution – always in service of the music at hand.

Tristan Rogers:

Trumpeter Tristan Rogers has been making waves in the Jazz, Hip Hop and Neo soul scenes around Brisbane for the last 7 years. He is an improviser, session player and composer, but original community music is what drives him the most. Since completing his BMus in 2015 at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, he keeps busy with session recordings, producing, performing and touring. In early 2015 he became a Temby Endorsed Artist following his partnership with David Temby of Temby Instruments Australia.
