This album was an experiment...I practise and write and sing at the piano. I explore here and lose time. I "noodle" and music presents itself. This offering is meant to feel like we are just hanging out together. I'm sharing my sounds because that is how my vulnerability and my strengths best co-exist in this world, I think. Through music I surrender, and I rise stronger. For this, I am so so grateful. I hope these songs wrap you up like an embrace and hold you when you need just that. That's what music has done for me all my life, and that's all I hope my music can do for others.
This recording would not exist if it was not for the encouragement of Sam Anning and Dan Tepfer...so thank you both for independently telling me this was "enough" through my doubts. Thank you too to Brodie McAllister for his belief, his vision, and his heart for promoting Aussie sounds and general good vibes in the world !!! Thank you, my dear friends.
This album is not perfect, and neither am I - and that's ok with me. May we all share our art, even with our cracks, and while we mend.
